Ultimate Texas Hold'em gives you something most casino games do not: the size of your own bet. Raise early, before the community cards, and you can bet four times your ante. Wait and the maximum shrinks to two, then one.
That structure is what keeps the edge low — about 2.19% of the ante with optimal play — but it also means the game punishes timidity harder than most. The correct strategy raises 4x on a meaningful share of starting hands, and a player who only raises big with premium holdings gives up a large part of what makes the game cheap.
