The 2026 World Series of Poker Main Event finished the way the best ones do, with a young player nobody was talking about a week earlier holding the last chips on the table.
Lucas Jumalon, a 22-year-old from Spokane, Washington, beat one of the largest Main Event fields the series has ever run to win the $10,000,000 first prize. The tournament played out at the Horseshoe and Paris in Las Vegas and finished on 5 August.
Jumalon is now one of the youngest Main Event champions in the game's history, a year older than Joe Cada was when Cada won in 2009 at 21. Second place went to Lauri Saaskilahti, who took home $6,000,000.
