Live dealer

Live dealer blackjack

The same maths as software blackjack at half the pace, which makes a bankroll last twice as long.

A real dealer, a real table, and the unhurried rhythm of a casino floor from your own sofa.

How to play it well

The decisions that actually move the number, and the version of the game worth looking for.

  1. Basic strategy applies exactly as it does at a software table. Nothing about the maths changes.
  2. The pace is roughly half, because a human deals and other players take their turns. That is what makes it the longest-running game on the site.
  3. Check the payout before sitting. 6:5 live tables exist and are common.
  4. Side bets like 21+3 and Perfect Pairs are priced well above the main game. They are also where the fun hands come from.
  5. Bet-behind lets you back another player's hand. Their decisions, your money.

What the figure assumes

Six decks, dealer stands on soft 17, blackjack pays 3:2, basic strategy. Same rules as software blackjack; only the pace differs.

Worth seeking out the good version

The version to look for

€0.30

0.5% edge

A 6:5 live table

€1.14

1.9% edge

Same game, same stake: 167 hrs of play against 44 hrs. Worth two minutes checking which table you are on.

The same game, the same rules and the same half-percent edge as its software counterpart — dealt by a person, at roughly half the speed.

That speed difference is the whole story. A software blackjack table will deal you well over a hundred hands an hour if you let it. A live table with other players at it deals perhaps sixty. Identical edge, half the decisions, half the cost per hour.

This is the clearest example on the site of pace mattering as much as price. Nothing about the game got better. You just bought fewer of them.
