Technical data
Our hosting and security systems may record technical information such as an IP address, browser or device details, the page requested, and the date and time. This information is used to run the site, keep it secure and diagnose problems.
Cookies
The site may use cookies needed for a feature you choose to use, such as remembering a country selection. WordPress also uses login and security cookies for editors. Tawk.to visitor monitoring is active even though its visitor-facing chat bubble is hidden. Your browser connects to Tawk.to, which may receive an IP address, device and browser details, page visits and related service data. See Tawk.to’s privacy policy for its handling of that data.
Contact messages
If you use the contact form, the name, email address, subject, message and time received are stored in WordPress and emailed to the editorial inbox. We use them to review the message, reply when appropriate and keep a record of corrections. They are kept only as long as reasonably needed for those purposes.
Questions to Chip
When you use Chip, your questions and conversation context are sent to Anthropic to generate a response. We may keep a log of questions and Chip’s answers, along with the page, time, turn number, answer status, answer length and recommended course IDs. Site administrators can read this log to understand what readers need and improve our coverage. The question log does not deliberately record your IP address, browser details, cookies or account ID, but anything you type could contain personal information. Please avoid sharing sensitive or identifying details. Hosting and security systems may separately process technical data as described above.
Other websites and embedded media
Links, embedded videos and externally hosted resources can connect to another provider. That provider handles data under its own privacy policy once your browser connects to it.
